+ School Counselor

Saint Henry School in Nashville, serving over 700 students pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, seeks an experienced School Counselor to join our supportive school environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan individual solution-focused counseling, small groups, and drop-in crisis counseling to help in the academic development and personal/social growth of students.
  • Organize classroom counseling lessons on topics such as bullying, conflict resolution, peer relations, and others to be discussed with administration.
  • Coordinate with outside agencies in order to enrich the counseling curriculum.
  • Manage teacher, parent, and outside agency (therapists, doctors, etc.) consultations to discuss student concerns and track progress.
  • Develop plans of action that will assist the student in reaching his/her fullest potential.
  • Provides administrative support.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. M. A. or M. S. degree in Counselor Education and/or other counseling-related field
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience teaching and/or school-based counseling, preferably in an elementary and/or middle school environment
  3. Valid Tennessee issued certificate and/or license
  4. Strong organizational, communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

+ Pre-K Teacher Aide

The teacher aide must be willing to work hard to help bring learning to life and collaborate with a highly qualified professional learning community in a supportive school environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist teacher in planning and preparation for all classroom activities and learning exercises.
  • Monitor student behavior and guide children in working and playing appropriately.
  • Work collaboratively with the team of teachers and aides. Provide support to the teacher to ensure a safe and stimulating educational environment.

  • Design a curriculum in line with the Diocese of Nashville Curriculum Guide vertically aligned with elementary grades and plan lessons that are engaging, deepen understanding and critical thinking, and are integrated with technology
  • Work collaboratively with the team of teachers and partner with parents to communicate student successes and areas of growth

This teacher must be willing to work hard to bring learning to life and collaborate with a highly qualified professional learning community in a supportive school environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design age-appropriate activities to prepare young learners for academic, social, and emotional success with vertical alignment to the Pre-Kindergarten (4-year old) program and in preparation for Kindergarten.
  • Work collaboratively with the Pre-Kindergarten team of teachers and partner with parents to communicate student successes and areas of growth.

+ Aftercare Staff

Saint Henry School is seeking experienced, innovative, and passionate staff for our Aftercare program. We are seeking applicants willing to work hard to ensure that students are provided supportive and nurturing care in an environment appropriate for after-school hours. The staff will design age-appropriate activities, allow for creative play, and encourage individual interests for our students during after-school hours. Staff members are expected to be passionate about what they do, the students they provide care for and mentor, and the school community. Saint Henry School is an exciting, highly professional, and very engaging community.

  • $18/Hour
  • Weekdays 2:45-5:45PM

Requirements:

  1. High School Diploma
  2. Ability to follow the guidelines and policies provided
  3. Willing to incorporate the teachings of the Catholic faith
  4. Experience working with children in various developmental stages preferred
  5. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
